Mobile field staff easy to manage with QuickFactsClick here to download article

JOHANNESBURG – September 08, 2009 – As the demand for mobile solutions for sales territory management and location intelligence continues to increase, so does the need for solutions that can easily integrate into and grow with any business environment, without having to redesign or modify existing solutions or infrastructure.

For this reason, location intelligence, mobility and fleet management solutions provider, ST Group has developed a proudly South African offering called QuickFacts, a business mobility solution that enhances the productivity levels of mobile applications and assists field staff to manage input and tasks. Built on a service-orientated architecture (SOA), MI2GO, QuickFacts easily integrates into mobile environments and enables rapid and seamless cross-platform deployment.

“QuickFacts is made up of a suite of software programmes that enhances the productivity levels of mobile applications in order to deliver a rapid return on investment,” says Alan Ellis, CEO at ST Group.

“The tool succeeds in streamlining the activities between the field force and the office by reducing the amount of paperwork and support required, improving accuracy and eliminating the cost associated with re-entry of data. While it assists in the management of staff by recording all activities, it also enriches employees’ knowledge of their own activities and allows them to use their time more efficiently, conduct field activities effectively and ultimately enables them to provide a higher level of service.”

Featuring QuickFacts Publisher, questionnaires and other relevant forms or information can be created and be made available to the field force on mobile devices such as laptops, or PDAs via wireless communication. Captured data, including GPS coordinates, is automatically sent back in real time to facilitate accurate reporting and is then stored in the selected database for post capture analysis. It is also possible to track each device, user, date, time and record in the database selected for logging to create an audit trail for each record, particularly in cases where editing is taking place.

“Unlike traditional methods of doing business, field staff now have knowledge at their fingertips, no matter where they are,” Ellis explains. “They are therefore able to make timely, informed decisions and with access to historical information, they are better prepared to educate clients, answer questions about products and services, process queries in real time, check status updates, commit to delivery and improve satisfaction levels. This frees up more time for face-to-face interactions with clients and allows field staff to maintain closer contact with a client on his site.

“In fact, simplifying the daily reporting process not only makes staff more effective, but also allows the organisation to understand its coverage better and identify gaps and operational inefficiencies that may exist. Furthermore, it provides both the company and each employee with reports that enable them to understand their territory better and manage their performance accordingly.”

Being a locally developed product, QuickFacts is specifically geared for the South African environment. While many similar tools only function while online, QuickFacts can also work offline from any location, taking into account connectivity outside of cities and metros.

“Over the years we have fine-tuned our solutions around current and future needs in the market in order to ensure high compatibility,” states Ellis. “Our QuickFacts tool has been successful in significantly shortening data collection turnaround and other business cycles, which time and again leads to improved cash flow, more efficient operations and a professional image, thereby improving stakeholder perception and adding value to the brand.”
